How silent and contented she always is, not comparing herself to others, not asking for more than she has (which of course can have its downside, as she does not get as 'noticed' as the rest. How much of a good heart she possesses and how she exposes herself to illness because she is trying to help people in need. And I love how Jo, who is the extrovert one, is the closest one to her. ♡ Oh Jo, why say no to Laurie? 😢😭 What could you possibly not like about him. The cast! Aaaah and also Madam Streep 😍 thanks Director Greta.

I'm so glad they expanded on Amy and Laurie. The other versions it just seems to randomly happen between the two. This one, it makes total sense why they get together. Saw it today. Watch online little women 1949 openload. I've read Little Women a dozen times and seen every film version so I was really looking forward to this movie. I just didn't love it. I hated the back-and-forth - it's the beginning of the Civil War and in the next scene it's after the Civil War and then it's back to the past again. I thought the cast was excellent (especially Florence and Timothy) but I still prefer the 1994 version. At first I was like, Why in the hell would they remake this, it was already great and then I watched the trailer and am like, damn, this also looks great. I just finished up little women and man, i love that book. I watched little women all the time when i was a kid, read the abridged version, saw the greta gerwig film, and played aunt march in a play for background. After reading the full book though i found the films lacking in many points i felt very important to each character. i know the film can’t get everything because of how long the book is (i personally think that someone should make a tv show with a chapter per episode) but i feel as though characters are always so oversimplified. Meg is usually portrayed as generally good though sometimes envious but in the book she’s very vain and materialistic(let’s also not forget when she’s mean to john for a power trip). Jo is strong, unconventional, and boyish but she’s also motherly and gentle. I feel like adaptions feel the need to take out the gentle parts of Jo because they think it makes her appear weaker than they want her to be. i think Beth is generally represented well. And that leaves Amy, I love Amy and in many adaptations she’s supposed to be materialistic and annoying but in the book she has these great moments of being kind, likable, and practical. I really like the way gerwig portrayed Amy because she’s such a good character. Anyway am i the only one who feels that adaptations take out bits of the characters that should be left in? now that the 4 girls are so popular everyone has the image of how they are but when i read the book i was pleasantly surprised at how developed they all are. please feel free to agree or disagree with me, i’m no literature major and these are just my fresh opinions. :).
